Visiting Professor in Practice

The London School of Economics and Political Science

In her role as Visiting Professor in Practice, Zainab contributes to research and teaching on women's leadership, gender justice, and the intersection of gender and planetary crises — particularly women's economic and social leadership in addressing climate change and environmental degradation.

She also engages students, faculty, and policymakers through public events and dialogues that connect grassroots activism with scholarly analysis on inequality, climate action, and women's frontline roles in protecting and restoring Earth.

Women, Nature & 2030

This lecture shares new research revealing how women's leadership is providing new pathways to address the climate crisis. By centering their relationship with nature and its protection, they are bringing about new behaviour changes and economic models that are leading to long-term transformations within communities. Their actions are transformative, positioning humans and communities as part of nature, not actors upon it.
